Keep Taylor Beautiful is sponsoring some special recycling opportunities at the Spring Cleanup on April 24 at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot from 8 a.m. until noon (and we will absolutely, positively close at noon).

Free of Charge Recycling:

1) any type of lead acid battery (car, truck, tractor, motorcycle, all-terrain-vehicle, lawnmower, jet ski, boat, etc.) We are not accepting household batteries (rechargeable batteries can be taken to any Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, or Home Depot for recycling).

2) natural and synthetic wine bottle corks (Spec's Liquor will donate 2 cents a cork to cancer research)

3 ) plastic garden pots provided they have a plastic resin code on the bottom (usually a 2, 5, or 6) and are clean. We'll take those to Ecology Action in Austin. The 6-pack, 4-pack and 10/12- packs won't be accepted.


For a Fee:

1) passenger tires will be accepted for a fee of $3/tire; prices are higher for tractor tires and bigger truck tires

2) shredding service: $5/bankers-box of paper (shredding done on site)
